The Federal Bureau of Investigation are looking into the latest prank by “The Script Kiddies”. The hacking group managed to get the password to the NBC news Twitter account on Saturday.
The group tweeted that airliners had crashed into Ground Zero which is the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks all those years ago. NBC News managed to remove the messages a few minutes later.
NBC stated that only three people have access to the account and yet “The Script Kiddies” managed to obtain the password and post a total of four messages on the account before they were locked out.
Shortly after getting the account back, NBC News deleted the tweets and then tweeted “Our account is secure and under control. Apologize for the scare. We value your trust.” Later it went on to say, “Thank you for helping spread the word and not sharing bad information.” This could only have been a planned attack for the 10th anniversary.
